Barium Swallow

Earlier this week, I had to go into the clinic for a barium swallow. If you’re wondering how long it takes for barium to works its way through your system, here are the stats:

* Drink 1+ quarts of barium
* 2.5 hours later you begin to experience the barium working its way out of your system
* 2.5 hours to 42 hours later continuous, and sometimes uncomfortable expulsion, of barium from your system
* 42 hours+, so far so good
